Why Western Red Cedar?

Cedar is the go-to timber for external cladding and garden projects because it's naturally durable — the timber contains its own oils that resist rot and insects, so it performs outdoors without chemical treatment. It's also remarkably light to handle, dimensionally stable, and ages to a handsome silver-grey if left untreated (or holds a finish beautifully if you'd rather keep the warm reddish-brown colour).

What we supply

Supplied planed all round (PAR) to your specified finished sizes, machined to around ±0.5mm in our Poole workshop. Cedar's low density also means it's one of the cheapest species to ship.
